چکیده
Our young but flourishing contemporary the Journal of the Association of Military Sur geons, U. &, lias an interesting article (May p 633) on Military Medical Journals of the present day which we propose to here synopsise. As the article we quote from points out, military medical journalism was not slow to present itself even in the infancy of periodical publication, and in fact at the present time the army of every important country has its journa| devoted to medico-military science except that of England, a fact which is not altogether to the credit of the Royal Army Medical Corps. As regards the Indian Army we may fairly claim to represent the medical department of that Army, indeed our American contemporary recognises this in the following paragraph which we?may be pardoned for quoting:? " The Indian Medical Gazette while not professedly a military medical journal is edited by officers of the British Indian Medical Service and appeals largely to the officers of that service who in turn contribute freely to its interesting and valuable pages, so that it js actually more military in its character than some of the s-lf declared mcdico-military publications. It" is one of the most valuable of the series" From this article we find that ? 1Iclt tnere are some twenty medico-military journals in existence One of the oldest of these journals is the A rchives de Medicine et de Pharmacie Militaires which is published by order 0f the French Minister of War. It is at present in its 39th volume, and in the 20th year of its existence in its present form, though it really dates backunder a slightly changed name, to the year of Waterloo.
